Life is nothing without music to go along with it..

It's one of those days where all I've done is listen to my Pandora and watched movies and shows that I needed to catch up on. So.. since I did a movie post already, I am going to write about music today (which I truly think I could not live without because it keeps me sane).

***WARNING*** I absolutely cannot stand country music; therefore, if you are looking for good country singers and what is good, you are in the wrong place. Because I don't think any (maybe one or two songs) are good.

Ok, now that we are past that...

Right about now I have been absolutely obsessed with my Fun. Pandora station. The thing about Pandora is that they don't only play songs by Fun., but by other artists that are similar.
Don't know Fun. very much? Well here are some examples:
Florence and the Machine
Killers
Coldplay
Mumford and Sons (sometimes I can't listen to them because of their country sound)
Muse
And a lot of others that are similar sounding!

Also, if you have not seen pitch perfect, I definitely recommend it! I have been addicted to the soundtrack since I saw it a few months ago, if that tells you anything. I'm a huge fan of A Capella. If you are too, I suggest you listen to Pentatonix.

I like to listen to "oldies" music as well. I grew up listening to it because of my dad, and I still love it. The music back then was truly rock and roll. Here are some of the bands that I like a lot:
Journey
Bob Seger--saw him in concert and he did an amazing job.
Def Leopard, Kiss, Poison, etc.
Fleetwood Mac
And lots of others that I can't think of right now.

Of course, I can't forget about what our generation considers to be old:
N'Sync
Backstreet Boys
Britney Spears (still kinda current)
Spice Girls
And the newer stuff that is kind of similar:
One Direction
Kelly Clarkson
The Wanted
Taylor Swift (even though she is country her songs are considered pop sometimes and they are catchy--not good).
I like to listen to most of these artists and bands today still and it is still just as good as when they first started. I'm not sure if it is just because it is some kind of flashback to childhood or if the songs are just too catchy not to sing along.

So that's about all I can think about tonight. This list could seriously go on forever.. and I could never pick a favorite band or singer because it varies from day to day (sometimes even from hour to hour).

Mild Panic Attack

Today Has Been One Of Those Days...

I've decided that today is a day where I really just want to vent and discuss what I have going on this week. I'm starting to stress already... Maybe I should take some things out of my schedule. I guess I'll wait to make that decision after this week.
First things first, I've had a really great weekend! I got to go to Ames and see some of my high school friends which is always nice, and I got to hang out with some other pretty awesome people yesterday. Today has been a lounge day. I literally have been out of the suite once for brunch :) I should have studied more than I did today, but I cannot find the motivation!!!!!
MY WEEK in a nutshell:

Monday: Not too terrible; regular day of classes, practice, and a workout session. STUDYING NEEDS TO BE DONE!
Tuesday: Normal classes. The most worrisome part are the basketball games. This takes up so much of my night, so there isn't much time for studying.
Wednesday: Classes, thank goodness I don't have clinical! This will make up for my lack of studying on Tuesday I hope.
Thursday: Classes, piano, and EXAM for nursing. (SCARY!)
Friday: Classes, EXAM in Spanish. Basketball games that night.
WORK OVER THE WEEKEND-- supposed to do a Best Buddies group activity, but not sure I will make it.

I know this is kind of a lame post, but I like to write things out when I get stressed and worried and this is a good way to do that I think. :) Have a good week, fellow bloggers!

Movies:

Romance-
The Notebook:
Some people may be scoffing at me right now, especially if you read the book since it is quite a bit different, but this is one of my go-to movies when I want to watch something with a great love story that is also sad. Plus I love both Rachael McAdams and Ryan Gosling.

The Last Song:
This is yet another one of Nicolas Sparks's books. I have not read this book, but the movie was pretty good (Miley Cyrus plays a good angsty teenager). The sad part is something I relate with so I really have to be in a mood to watch it, but the love story is fairly good, too.

The Prince and Me:
I love this movie. It has some sad scenes in it, but not to the point where I am crying so that makes it a good one to watch whenever. Even though it is pretty unrealistic, it makes me hope that there are guys out there who will eventually change into mature men like "Prince Edward" :)

Comedies-
Dodgeball:
I liked this one because even though it was completely hilarious, they were still trying to reach a goal.

Bridesmaids:
This is one of my all time favorites! There are so many funny moments and there is also that relationship that is trying to happen throughout the whole movie. RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!

Easy A:
I just watched this the other night and honestly can't believe it is only rated PG-13. It's a good and funny movie though and I definitely recommend it if you want a laugh.

The Ugly Truth:
I love Gerard Butler! :) This movie is hilarious, awkward, and sexy. The best combination for a sort-of romantic comedy.

The Proposal:
One of my all time favorites!!! Ryan Reynolds=GORGEOUS! I love the plot and the love story behind it too. So good! RECOMMEND for sure!

Baby Mama:
Amy Adams and Tina Fey. That's all I should have to say. They are so awesome together! This is one of my favorite just plain funny movies. Their characters clash so much, but end up being best friends for life, even in an awkward situation.

Thrillers-
Red Eye:
Again with Rachael McAdams, but I thought she had a great character who actually knew what to do in her situation. I am not one to watch scary movies or even thrillers, but I loved this movie.

Action-
Avitar:
I cried, I laughed, I loved!!! This movie is amazing! I felt like I was there with them and the special effects were so good! James Cameron is awesome.

The Avengers:
I have only ever seen Iron Man (the first one) and none of the others that went along with this movie and I still liked it a lot. Lots of action, but also some funny moments in there as well.

All of the Transformer movies:
I like the first one the best. As strange as it sounds, I fell in love with all of the autobots right away. Bumblebee especially. It is like they are real people, but they are better than people! I also like the US army side of the story, and how Josh Duhamel is the main guy there. His character really brings a lot of good to the human race.

The Hunger Games:
This movie was actually really good in relation to the book. Of course there were parts that were left out or changed, but all in all, they did a really good job. I love Katniss's character and personality and I think that Jennifer Lawrence is great at playing her.

Others that I can't categorize-
Pitch Perfect:
This is a fairly new movie still, but definitely one of my favorites! I bought the soundtrack and listen to it constantly. I love the singing, especially that it is A Capella.

Sherlock Holmes movies:
Robert Downey Jr. is so strange that he plays the part well. There is action and kind of a romantic side of things as well, but the friendship between Holmes and Watson is my favorite. I also like how it seems that Sherlock has known the answer to the mystery for a long time before he reveals that he knows.. it's so odd and compelling.

At some point I plan to do a blog about movies vs. the books they originated from, this is why I left out Twilight. Plus, the first movie sucked so much that I wanted them to remake it right after I saw it. (sorry if that offends anyone, but it is just my personal feelings :)

Hola fellow Bloggies!

I'm new to this, but I want to start this blog by talking about my life. I am a currently a nursing student, which is a huge reason for me making this blog.. It's very stressful and I think this will be a good way to filter some of my feelings and problems. I have a Spanish minor along with that (hence the "hola" in the beginning). I am also a cheerleader! I get thrown into the air on almost a daily basis, so my life is not boring. I also love to run and do other exercising just to keep myself going. I LOVE to read. It is a passion of mine that I don't always understand, but I can get so lost in a book that I won't even realize how much time has passed. I am a fan of leopard/cheetah print and I like to look nice just for the heck of it. Shopping and ice cream are weaknesses of mine. I can't say no to buying things I want or to eating a bowl of chocolate ice cream.... really chocolate anything. ;)I don't know what i would do without my friends and family; especially my dad! He is the best person in the world. I think that you can accomplish anything if you have the mind set to go after it and put the work in to accomplish it. I take piano lessons... not that I'm very good yet, but it's a work in progress. I also sing and am in choir at school.
I think this is the most random blog ever... but it's a start! So excited to be joining the blogging world! :)
